  • Lavish Alice at London Fashion Week

As London fashion week comes to a close, we look back on the opening weekend; where not all eyes were on the designer collections, but the attendees themselves! It seems fashion’s finest are loving the latest collection from Lavish Alice, and what better way to showcase their love than at the biggest event in the British fashion calendar!

The Khaki Collarless Cape Coat proved to be a firm favourite amongst fashionistas. Blogger babe Sandra Haglesam aka 5 Inch and Up paired the structured statement piece with a cream co-ord; whilst Rosie Fortescue of MIC teamed the timeless tailoring with our Black Eyelet Detail Lace Up Scallop Mini Dress, boasting of its “amazing neckline”. The edgy LBD, with hints of Alexander Wang AW15, turned heads as Rosie completed the look with voluptuous curls and bared her enviable pins ahead of the Julien Macdonald show. During the opening weekend the pair stood as Lavish Alice veterans, taking over our Instagram and Twitter accounts - giving us all things front row goss!

Georgia May Foote also made sure she was the centre of attention, stepping out in two on trend pieces from Lavish Alice. She kick started the first day of LFW in our super sultry White Crossover Bralet Bodycon Midi Dress; later changing up her previous look to ooze elegance in our Black Floaty Cape Dress and slicked back hair.

But it wasn’t just the celebs who wanted in on our hot off the rail items; a list of blogging royalty also took to the streets around Somerset house opting for the fashion forward pieces. Olivia Laura, Marsha Campbell aka London Tall Girl and Gemma Talbot aka What’s In Her Wardrobe all rocked our Black & White Distorted Stripe Collarless Cape Blazer. What’s In Her Wardrobe also donned the matching Black & White Distorted Stripe Tailored Shorts with a black roll neck and thigh high black boots, finishing off the monochrome look.

Hannah Whiting of Too Much Is Not Enough blogging fame and Louise O’Reilly of Style Me Curvy, both wowed in our Navy Collarless Cape Blazer. Hannah chose the matching Navy Crossover D-Ring Peg Leg Trousers to tailor her torso whilst Louise opted for the figure flattering Navy Crossover Shorts giving street style a whole new meaning!

We also spotted LOOK magazine’s Gemma Gow effortlessly putting her own stamp on our Blush Sleeveless Duster Coat with a crisp white shirt, whilst Label PR’s Sophie Allen stylishly kept warm in our Marble Print Scuba Sweater.

With super sleek tailoring, monochrome prints and heavenly LBD's, it’s no surprise celebrities and bloggers alike wear Lavish Alice to style their way to LFW stardom.

We’re thinking of copying a few ensembles ourselves - if you don’t mind ladies?!

London Fashion Week exceeded all expectations on the SS15 catwalks. There was a plethora of inspiring pieces - from 3D blooms at Simone Rocha to sequin pasties at Tom Ford - leaving us in serious need of a wardrobe re-vamp! To make things a little more plain sailing in the style stakes, we have selected key-trend pieces from our SS15 collection with advice on how to style them this spring/summer. The nautical trend will be a chic spring option this year, with a heavy stripe focus, most famously seen at Victoria Beckham. Monochrome stripes are an easy to wear nod to the trend and appear on various pieces in the new collection, including culottes, short-suits and crop tops.

STYLE TIP: Combining the monochrome striped blazer and shorts with a simple crop top (also hot for SS15) puts a chic new spin on the co-ord trend.

The 70’s trend was un-missable on the catwalks - from Tommy Hilfiger's retro fashion festival to Henry Holland's groupie girl tribute. A key trend within this story was strong floral prints - as seen at Celine, Marni, Marchesa and Simone Rocha. A favourite look from Lavish Alice Spring 15 is the floral bralet and skirt co-ord. This new take on a Lavish Alice classic, incorporate’s the trend of lace detailing while adding a soft feminine touch to the sharp, tailored look of the new collection.

STYLE TIP: If you’re going to rock the 70’s trend we say go hard or go home – wear with a statement red lip and a frizzed-out mane a-la Marques Almeida… say no to normcore!

Throughout the collection there are subtle hints to the popular ‘Military Utility’ trend. Strong details on key pieces include large patch pockets and silver visible zips – these worked seamlessly with Lavish’s basic asthetic of soft tailoring for a strong, sharp, turned-out look. The sand trench is a stand out piece and is one of the key products influenced by this look, as well as the black pocket peplum dress which, was heavily influenced by Australian designer, Josh Goot.

STYLE TIP: This stunning sand trench will look just as good dressed down as dressed up – just add a pair of fashion forward thigh-high boots and you’re all set!

The races are the most glamorous daytime event of your summertime social calendar, and bring the perfect opportunity for a chic new outfit to get you standing out from the crowd of fascinators. With having entered into June with the most famous racing event of the year- Ascot- we’ll be giving you stylish outfit ideas so you can be sure to look fabulous at any racing event. The races ooze sophistication and statement pieces. They reflect affluence and aristocracy calling all women to wear appropriate attire of modest length dresses and skirts. But here at Lavish Alice, we create a modern refreshing take on the traditions for an on-trend, sophisticated, but unique demure look.

What to wear to Ascot Races by Lavish Alice

Maxi dresses show a relaxed, feminine summer vibe and due to their length, are perfect for the races. Our Cobalt Blue Palm Tree Maxi Dress makes a bold summer statement that can be dressed up with subtle jewellery and killer heels. For a more elegant and structured maxi, select our Off White Cut Out Maxi Dress, and for delicate sophistication, check out our Cream Lattice Back Maxi Dress. The most on-trend skirt this season is the Volume Midi Skirt, which pulls in at the waist and elongates across the hips with a sheer panel for an updated and sexy take on the classic. Instead of an all in one dress, this co-ord style breaks up the outfit with an addedScuba Crop Top, which leaves just the right amount of skin on show.

Fitted midi dresses and pencil skirts scream sophistication, maturity of style and are brilliant for accentuating your figure. The fitted all-in-one length of the Pink Palm Leaf Racer Midi Dress allows your silhouette to appear taller with a flattering bold print and strong, rounded neckline. For a more suited and structured look, the White Crossover Culottes are a fresh take on the traditional trouser suit. The crisp white wrap overs will go with almost any pretty shirt or pastel top for a truly unique turn up to wow at the races. To complete the different outfit takes on racing styling, make sure you have a pair of Tread Sole Platform Shoes to add to your posture, and a pair of Brown Oversized Cateye Sunglasses to shield that scorching sun (hopeful) with attitude. With these outfit picks, it’ll be hard for guests to keep their eyes on the racing and off your refined LA styling.

Festivals are the absolute pinnacle of our summer months, in recent years they have become extremely popular and now there are more and more emerging than you can shake a stick at. Sonar in Barcelona? Hideout in Croatia? Tomorrowland in Belgium? Whatever your music tastes there is a festival to suit and also the opportunity to enjoy it in a beautiful European country.

Lavish Alice festival guide - what to wear to a festival

While there are hundreds of different festivals to choose from, one thing always remains the same. True festival style! This calls for flower crowns, crops, denim shorts, chunky sandals and all the accessories you can get your hands on. But don’t forget your layers! (Especially if your festival is UK based) go for items that can be taken off easily should the sun pay you a visit. We love the ElectricBlue Dark Floral Boxy Crop Top and matchingElectric Blue Dark Floral TailoredHigh Waist Skorts for a fun, flirty look and the Cobalt Blue & Cream PalmTree Print Playsuit for the ultimate summery staple. Throw on some JEEPERS PEEPERS River Blue Metallic Round Sunglasses and you are festival ready!

As the sun is starting to shine and the most fashionable festival of the year is about to kick off in California, those of us who aren’t lucky enough to jet set half-way around the world to listen to the coolest acts, amongst the coolest fashionistas, have only one thing on our minds: how will we spend our summer?

Whether you’re a true hipster inter-railing around Europe, being a mermaid in the waterfalls of Thailand, partying in Ibiza, or whether you’re just taking a trip to the swimming baths down the road, it has to be done in style. Swimwear is undeniably a must-have to your luggage; you have to get it, and get it right. The bikini is the staple piece lying in your suitcase, just waiting to stand out from the crowd and compete against other sun-worshipers strutting along the glorious sands.

If our South Beach swimwear collection can’t get you in the mood for summer then nothing can! The uniquely picked collection showcases the on-trend 50’s styled, high waist bottoms with a bustier outlined cup. This sophisticated, vintage style with powerful structuring, accentuates curves for an ultra-glam look in the sun.

For a more feminine, girly vibe this summer, the collection has an array of the most delicate textures of flirty frills and cute crochets, featuring in white, pastel mint, vibrant lime and sassy pink, and not forgetting a beautifully British, classic rose design. Bring out your wild side in an abstract tropical print, go with the boho flow in the geometric Aztec or transform to a disco diva with the 70's styled, psychedelic design with loud, clashing colours. This summer there’s no excuse not to flaunt your figure in the most iconic two-pieces, and having the perfect bikini now gives you a good enough excuse to book that perfect holiday. Team with a pair of chic, round sunnies and crisp, white, chunky sandals and you’ll be ready to rock the beach babe look!
